Ahnjili ZhuParris is deeply fascinated by the intricate interplay between AI, surveillance, and the realm of art as a Machine Learning Engineer, AI Artist and science communicator. By blending her technical knowledge of AI with her creative pursuits, she creatively repurposes common AI algorithms for unconventional artistic endeavours, using them as a lens to reflect on and question the appropriate use of such technologies in society. Mariana Fernández Mora is fascinated by technology’s impact on knowledge production and is developing new approaches towards anti-colonial methodologies for algorithmic cultures, by working at the intersection of art, research, and AI. Her book, Dear Machines, published in 2022, is an experimental thesis on co-writing with AI. In it she explores how AI technologies are changing and challenging the way we communicate, the way we determine intelligence, and, as a consequence, how knowledge is created. Link

Martijn van Boven is a visual artist from Amsterdam, focusing on experimental films and computer generated art. His work is expressed through installations, films, collaborations with composers, and cinema performances. Martijn gave the workshop Meet Your Stochastic Sloth for The Hmm last year, with which he stimulated the use of artificial language as an artistic toolset. This year, he mentored three master’s students from TU Eindhoven in creating the artwork As Mundane as Paper, which represents how artificial intelligence operates. Link
